Morafe 2023 Capstone Trip Reflections: IAWA Ambassador Tlotlego
My name is Tlotlego, and I am currently in grade 11. Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to IAWA for the incredible opportunity it has given us. I would also like to thank Meisha Lerato, the Founder of IAWA, and God for granting her the strength to lead us on this journey. I genuinely find joy and happiness in our meetings.
During our visit to Hope4Kasi for community service, we cleaned the yard and painted a house for grandparents. This experience taught me the importance of helping the community. It enriches your life, familiarizes you with your community, and connects you with people and ideas that can positively impact your perspective for the rest of your life.
On the second day, we visited the University of Pretoria. I learned that the University of Pretoria is an excellent institution, nestled amidst the purple haze of Pretoria's iconic Jacaranda trees. It offers high-quality teaching, learning, and research expertise across all nine faculties, including South Africa's only faculty of law and a business school.
On our last day, we toured Soweto, visiting three important places:
1) Hector Pieterson Museum
2) Nelson Mandela House
3) Vilakazi Street
I thoroughly enjoyed this trip, and once again, I want to express my gratitude to Meisha for motivating us and providing us with this remarkable opportunity.
IAWA Ambassador, Tlotlego
