May Message From Our Founder

Because of your support, last year we surpassed our fundraising goal and had huge success with our Annual Reception and Art Auction.  We are excited to use those funds to launch our new program, Morafe. Morafe will work with Laurel High School in Prince George's County, MD, USA and Mmanape High School in the Northwest Province, SA.  We are also expanding our team to ensure we have ample resources to support the youth in the program.  We recently brought on Erin McIlraith as our Digital Media Coordinator and Montana Marks as my Assistant.  With their support, we are looking forward to better consistency in our communications and expanding our reach.

You can learn more about our vision for the next three years by checking out our 2021-2023 Strategic Plan, Unleashed Potential.

In closing, I would like to share that I recently added Lerato to my name.  It means love in Setswana.  I recognize the fear that dominates so much of our daily interactions and living, preventing love from shining through and for us to connect with the humanity of others.  I challenge each of you to find new ways to express love to those around you and to reach deep to express love, kindness, and empathy to those whose pain prevents them from exhibiting those traits.  It will take each of us to make this world a more humane place.

In light love and liberation,

Meisha Lerato Robinson
